While some businesses are hurting, the personal development and coaching businesses are booming.  The average person no longer accepts the old ways of thinking.  People are seeking truth and peace and are adapting their principles to succeed in today’s world.  It is no coincidence that our new President, Barack Obama, is the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize; Americans are seeking change, change that begins from the inside out.

So what does this mean for businesses? If our media and social trends are leaning towards spirituality, health and self-actualization then so must our corporate environment and so must our leaders.  If the average person is more aware, then they are more conscious of what they buy and who they buy from.  Businesses have a duty to be socially and ethically responsible.  The old ways of doing business will no longer work in this new world.  With more evolved conscious people inhabiting the planet, businesses must operate with honesty and integrity.

·              Speak highly of individuals and eliminate negative gossip

·              Will see only the greatness in other people rather than their shortcomings

·              Inspire others by their actions and by who they are being

·              Believe in the “I can win AND You can win” concept

·              Collaborate instead of compete
