It's Wrong To Do Things Right
Do you procrastinate? Do you have great ideas but never take action on them? Someone once told me that “Procrastination is a symptom of perfectionism. Perfectionists have an ideal of wanting things to be absolutely flawless. The problem is that perfection is an unrealistic goal. People who wait for things to be “perfect” find themselves doing just that, waiting. The fear of imperfection causes the procrastination and they avoid the task all together.”
When I first heard that I automatically thought “Oh no, you found me out!”. But then an internal shift happened. I started noticing the big movers and shakers in my industry and thought, “they’re not perfect they just take massive action and implement their ideas quickly.” I then gave myself permission to be imperfect.
It did take some coaching for me to truly understand that the goal is not to do it perfectly
