Increase Your Productivity with an Organized Plan

A few days ago, I found myself feeling under the weather and very unproductive. By Wednesday, I snapped out of it.  Yesterday, I pulled out my notebook that I keep on my desk, and wrote out a list of all the things I needed to do that were outstanding.  I quickly got through the majority of my list.

I noticed that days that I create my “To Do Lists” and follow them I am more productive than the days that I don’t write anything down. I’ve had tasks on my lists that have been there for weeks.  I had people I had to get back to but was avoiding.  I became aware of how much energy I was leaking from continuing to put things off.  Tasks lingered in my subconscious mind and were eating away at me, reminding me to “just get it done already!”  The more I procrastinated the more I was bothered and it affected my self-esteem.

My friend and master mind member Leslie Ingves, Career Coaching Specialist from www.Clearpathway.com reminded me to make a call everyday that I’ve been avoiding. Since I’ve been doing that my confidence level has increased and my productivity has sky rocketed.     Every time you do something beyond your comfort zone you stretch yourself and you develop a muscle for it and it becomes easier and easier.  You then get things accomplished more efficiently and more effectively.

Make a call or do something that stretches you.  Do the one thing you’ve been procrastinating.

Here are 3 simple things you can do to be more productive:

1) Get a notebook that you leave on your desk that is dedicated to your daily tasks.
2) Every day, start your day creating a task list of all the things you need to get done
3) Put the most difficult one first and then order based on priority
4) Complete as much as you can, continuing to work your way down the list
5) Whatever you don’t get accomplished, put in the beginning of the next day’s list
