While listening to Taylor Swift’s Fearless CD, I came across the song The Best Day. It’s a song about a little girl (Taylor) growing up and having the best days with her mother.  I fell in love with the song instantly.  The sound and the words sang right to my heart and touched my soul in a way that hasn’t been touched in a long time.  I got choked up and fought back the tears.  Who cries over a song? I thought.

And then I came to the following realization.  Taylor Swift is a HUGE success. She has millions of fans all over the world.  People love her songs, because she is authentic and her words resonate with people.  In her songs, she puts it all out there, she is bold, she speaks her heart and she is completely FEARLESS.

I began to notice how many times I hold myself back from feeling deeper in order to keep myself safe.  And then it hit me like a ton of bricks, I got to put more of my heart in my work and let it all show and not be afraid to do that.

Working as a consultant for large corporations we were taught how to be professional and put-together, and the stronger your image, the more likelihood you would succeed.  But, I now believe we’re moving towards a new era.

Listening to the song “The Best Day”, I learned that the more of my own heart I put into my work, the more people I will reach. We live in a world where authenticity is key and loving is cool and welcomed.  Love is a vibration, and the more of it you feel the more others will feel it also.  People want real life, real people and real stories.

Taylor Swift is nineteen and has made her dreams into reality. She used true success principles to get where she is today, she is unstoppable.  Despite getting turned down by several record labels and getting made fun of by her friends, she stayed PERSISTENT never giving up on her dreams.

Her gratitude is shown in EVERYTHING she does. You will always hear her authentically thanking her family, her friends and her fans.  She doesn’t take her fame for granted and sends out more of that positive energy to get it back in return ten-fold.

If this young lady can make it at her young age and make millions of dollars and ultimately touch the hearts of millions of people, surely all of us can too.  Her story has definitely inspired me to step up my game.
